We enjoyed today so very much. I took the children thinking it would be of benefit to them and came away realizing it had been a tremendous blessing to them AND to me!! It was such an awesome experience in so many different ways. I don't believe our state political process will ever be viewed the same way again--- THANK YOU

Thank you for doing this for each of us. It was a true blessing. We are inundated with liberal press. Often the conservative efforts are hidden under a bushel. Today we were able to hear about the conservative efforts without censorship. I was amazed and encouraged at all the efforts
that support conservatives values. To have that many political people that not only support, but live the lifestyle we hold dear was exciting! I will definitely find a way to connect with this effort.

Home Education in Michigan - Wednesday, November 05, 2008

Given the hostility of some legislatures in Michigan during the last year, we anticipate more attacks on our freedom to homeschool in Michigan during the next year. We will monitor issues as they surface and send out information as appropriate.

We will also be determining the date for next year's conference soon. Stay tuned for more information.

Delays Big and Small
Today is November 18, and I am greatly disappointed to have to tell you our new website is still not up and running.  This makes the second postponement while we settle the technical issues so that everything will work properly.  We hope to have everything ironed out by the first of December, and I will [...]

This is a glimpse of our new website, coming soon.  We regret it could not be ready sooner due to technical issues, but look forward to its launch on or around December 1.  Email subscribers will receive updates about the unveiling.

“Imagine if . . .”
The Reality of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child Imagine an Air Force mom, serving her country on a month-long deployment, who learns that her daughter has been secretly removed by local authorities, claiming the child has been “abandoned.” Children begin mandatory sex-education at the age of four, regardless of their family’s opinions, [...]

Change Is Coming
Change is coming.  No, I’m not talking about Barack Obama or John McCain (and aren’t you glad!).  I’m talking about big changes in the works here at ParentalRights.org. With Election Day tomorrow, voters across the country will choose not only a president, but the 111th Congress.  Once that happens, we will get to know the new [...]

Vaccines, Autism, and Parents
TRENTON, NJ — Hundreds rallied at the New Jersey Statehouse on Thursday, October 16, to protest a new state law adding four more vaccines to the state’s list of mandatory inoculations, already the longest such list in the nation.  Various reports estimate the crowd of parents and children at 300 to 500, gathered to draw [...]

Should Parents Decide Curfew?
According to an August 16 story from The Hartford Courant, Hartford  (Connecticut) hopes to stem a wave of teen crime by reviving a curfew law already on the books.  Authorities believe the 9:00 pm deadline for minors under 18 to be off the streets will reduce crime, though many residents express doubts.  And teens with [...]

Protecting Kids by Preserving a Parent’s Right
According to an August 12 report from KXLY in Spokane, Washington, the Department of Child Protective Services for nearby Colville has come under investigation after a number of parents and legal guardians complained about the department’s practices: removing children from perfectly good homes, splitting families for no apparent reason, and treating legal guardians with great [...]

There they go again!
As Ronald Reagan used to say when debating political opponents, “There you go again!” It would be appropriate to say the same thing to the state of California, who is doing its best to undermine the vital role parents play in the lives of their children. While everyone’s attention has focused on the recent court case In [...]

Parental Rights Amendment Introduced
Contact your Representative today and urge them to support the Parental Rights Amendment. The Parental Rights Constitutional Amendment bill has just been introduced in the House of Representatives! Our bill number is H. J. Res 97. You can read the language of the bill by visiting http://thomas.loc.gov and searching for the bill number. Rep. Pete Hoekstra introduced [...]

Government-Supervised Parenting
Part I of an In-depth Look at Article 18 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child During our series on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, most of the articles we have considered have focused on the relationship between the state and the child. Article 18 is therefore unique in [...]
